Dr. Ard is a clinical researcher focused on adult obesity treatment. He co-directs the Wake Forest Baptist Health Weight Management Center, overseeing medical programs that integrate surgery, medication, and lifestyle therapy. His research informs patient care and vice versa, with a special focus on African Americans, older adults, and those with severe obesity. He’s currently exploring how new treatments may help resolve chronic conditions like type 2 diabetes.
